Existing Relationship – Supplier Escalation Planning
What we deliver
-
A service improvement plan that can be quickly mobilised. An escalation approach of the issues with the supplier, that assures a collaborative and agreed plan, whilst retaining a good relationship and your contractual protections.
How you will benefit
-
Assured approach. Planning in a robust manner helps to prevent unexpected ‘curve balls’ from either the supplier or internal stakeholders. It provides a firm foundation for a safe remediation process, that can be negotiated and implemented quickly.
-
Improved value for money. An assured remediation approach helps to provide confidence in both the governance and your executive Boards that your original investment can both be realised, and still achieve the benefits expected in an accelerated time frame.
Key contents of the Supplier Escalation Planning process
Step 1 : Plan the outcome
We help you structure the original expectations and what may have moved on since. We’ll then help you clarify the specific hurdles you are experiencing with your supplier to discuss.
Step 2 : Clarify contractual deliverables
We review where expectations have been clarified in the contract and those which may be ambiguous. We then use ‘Expert Responsibilities’ to clarify the ambiguity.
Step 3 : Quantify unexpected costs
There will be a series of unexpected costs as a result of the project not performing. We help you to articulate these in order to help determine the business case for remediation.
Step 4 : Validating roles and responsibilities
It’s important to clarify which aspects of the project you and your supplier were responsible for. Note that the supplier’s ‘Expert Responsibilities’ will clarify this.
Step 5 : Approach to re-building Trust
The approach to rebuilding Trust is based on evidence. If the supplier delivers as agreed, you will begin to trust them again. This step agrees the objectives to achieve.
Step 6 : Have you inadvertently caused issues?
Are there areas where your client team may have inadvertently prevented the supplier from successfully delivering? We’ll help you assess this objectively.
Step 7 : Overall sanity check
We help you validate what has been positive with the project, independently assess the evidence along with the planning to assure the approach to the supplier is likely to be successful.
Step 8 : Internal stakeholder agreement to approach
We will work with you to facilitate internal stakeholder agreement to get buy-in to the negotiation and operational approach to remediation.
